The Talons third league game was played in O'Loughlins; the Tipp Talons home for the remainder of the season.
Boosted by the addition of two new players before the game,Talons started in encouraging fashion with Jason Mangan getting on the end of
some good passes for a couple of inside scores.
Mangan's successful attempts were supplemented by guard Niall Berry and forward Darius Dragunus; and both players pocketed threes to increase Talons lead.
Paulstown responded through ballhandler Mark Nelson but it was Talons who took a 20-7 lead into the break at the end of the first quarter.
Newcomers Romas Rudokas and Diarmuid Purcell were introduced during the second period, and Talons continued to threaten with Peter Connors and Shane McGarry netting eight points in a 22 point quarter to make the it 42-13 at the half.
Talons later ended any notion of an upset in the third quarter when Rudokas hit
three three pointers in a row.
Talons found the basket eight times from long range, meanwhile on another pleasing note, rookie Diarmuid Purcell displayed his undoubted promise.

Portlaoise Boys under-16 team travelled to Kilkenny to play Club Kilkenny in the League.

Portlaoise made the perfect start with early baskets from Craig Scully and Stephen Glynn.
Despite some good performances from Ian Hayes and Paddy Walsh Club Kilkenny got off to a slow start, by contrast Portlaoise went on a scoring spree.
The impressive Craig Scully dominated the play and it came as no surprise when he combined with Michael Donovan to open up a 15 point gap.
Club Kilkenny battled hard with Abras Al Khan and David Griffin getting them on the scoreboard.
As the second quarter got underway Club Kilkenny finally began to play some good basketball, and their persistence paid off when Kieran Casey and Ian Hayes shot some good scores.
Portlaoise responded through Colm McKenna and captain Stephen Glynn.
Club Kilkenny then scored through Rory O'Driscoll and Ian Hayes in the second quarter before Portlaoise hit back with baskets from John Campbell and Michael Donovan.
Portlaoise led 36-19 at the break, before Keith Hogan and Harry Lewis inspired Kilkenny in the third quarter.
Both teams looked a little lethargic in the final quarter with Portlaoise well on their way to victory.
In the final quarter Kilkenny's David Griffin and Rory O'Driscoll and Portlaoise pair hn Campbell and Stephen Rainsfort exchanged points.
Alas Portlaoise were not to be denied s comfortable victory, but Coach Ken Glynn knows that their next game against old rival Castlecomer will be a much tougher affair.

CLUB Kilkenny gained their first point in the league after a fine victory over the gallant girls of Old Leighlin.
The first quarter was a lively one with Old Leighlin scoring through Eleanor Meaney Helen Foley, Tracey Brennan and Sarah Manning.
The Kilkenny side replied with some excellent scores from Mairead Downey, Joanne Wall and Kathryn Ryan.
Club Kilkenny started the second quarter with an 11-8 lead thanks to some nice baskets from Siobhan Magner.
At the interval Club Kilkenny went in 21-12 up.
The third quarter saw Killkenny continued to dominate while failing to put the game beyond their opponents reach.
Try as they might Old Leighlin couldn't cut the deficit.
By the start of the final quarter Ciara Healy and Collette Dormer had sent Kilkenny into a 32-18 lead.
In the final quarter Eleanor Meaney and Kate Purcell added eight points for Old Leighlin before Siobhan Magner and Joanne Wall hit two three pointers at the death.

THIS cross-town clash was an eagerly anticipated one, and as expected both teams were fully committed.
Matt the Millars started the better with Ann Marie Ryall, Lorraine Galvin and Ann Delaney all getting on the scoresheet.
As for St. Patricks, they scored 8 points in the first quarter courtesy of Gemma Fitzpatrick, Deirdre Wall and Lisa Farrell, however they trailed 10-8 at the end of the 1st quarter.
St. Patrick's upped the tempo in the second quarter scoring 16 points through Gemma Fitzpatrick, Emer Phelan, Joanne Wall, and Kathryn Ryan.
For their part, Matt the Millars could only muster a mere six points through Ann Delaney and Suzie Kavanagh.
St. Patrick's turned around a two point deficit to to a lead at half time by 24-16. After the break it was tit-for-tat scoring with AnnMarie Ryall and Lorraine Galvin contributing seven points between them for Matt the Millars.
Niamh Carroll and Deirdre Wall added baskets with the latter hitting six points of their nine points in the third quarter to lead 33-23.
In the final quarter St. Patrick's maintained their advantage; Lorraine Galvin hit a three pointer but Deirdre Wall cancelled it out.
Among those who impressed for St. Patrick's were Natalie Walsh, Sarah Gleeson, Theresa Walsh, Gill Meridth and Collette Comerford.
