Abbey community college show jumping
Three show-jumping teams travelled to Ballinamona recently to compete in the interschool’s competition.
Team blue was the first to compete, finished on a score of four faults. Team black also finished on four faults after each rider had jumped. Team amber got through to the jump off on a team total of zero faults.
Five teams had a score of zero: Good Counsel New Ross, Kilkenny College, Newbridge College, Colaiste Bhride Carnew and Abbey Community College.
All going forward to the jump off, Shannon Maguire and Roisin Oates jumped off for the Abbey, and both had fantastic rounds with fast times to secure second place on the day. The other members of the team were Aoife Oates and Fiona Fox.
It was a great result for the school with team black coming seventh place and team blue coming eighth on the day. Abbey Community College is currently sixth in the league.
