The Kilkenny Hunt were at Gowran Park to fulfil the ceremonial duties of leading the race horses out on to the track and escorting the winning horse to the parade ring.

Charlie Gundry and Jamie Walsh from Mount Juliet were representing the Kilkenny Hunt which was formed in 1785 and has led the races horses to the starting line at every Thyestes chase.
