Ni Fianna live album, DVD

FOLLOWING their success on The All-Ireland Talent Show, the Kilkenny and Laois-based band Na Fianna are set to release their first live album and DVD.

Damien and John Walsh from Ballinakill, Lee Campion from Durrow and Ross Hennessy from Kilkenny are delighted with how the album has turned.

“We recorded the album and DVD at the Hazel Hotel in Monasterevin after our run on The All-Ireland Talent Show,” explained Damien Walsh. “With the guidance of John Kelly along his camera and sound crew the quality album and DVD has well exceeded our expectations.”

“We just love the atmosphere and the craic that is created at our live gigs, we wanted to capture that in the recording, which I think we really did,” added Ross Hennessy. “We are offering Irish folk to a new generation. We find more and more people of our age are into Irish music. I guess it is just part of who we are,” said bass player Lee.

The album and DVD launch will take place on Saturday in the Hazel Hotel Monasterevin. Tickets are 10 and are available from hotel reception on 045 525373. For further information contact 086 0581606 of www.nafiannamusic.com.
