One-act festival next week

TICKETS are now on sale for the Barn Owl Players' first annual One Act Festival, showcasing five one act plays over four nights in The Barn from June 14-18.

The festival opens on Monday night with three plays - Laundry and Bourbon starring Janis Woodgate, Trisha Hogan and Eithne O’Reilly, directed by Philip Hardy; the Willie Ryan-directed Cocaine starring Hughie Glynn and Laura Keys; concluding with Here We Are, directed by Sheila Kirby and featuring Nicola Keating and Willie Ryan.

This first programme on plays will show for a second time on Tuesday night.

The second playbill, showing on Thursday and Friday nights, features Lone Star, the companion piece to Laundry and Bourbon, which is also directed by Philip Hardy and stars Jim Carroll, Michael Somers and John Whitely, with the comedic farce Costa del Packet bringing the festival to a close. Costa is directed by Trish Brennan with an all-female cast of Naoise Coogan, Mary Cody, Sinead Goggin, Ita Morrissey and Nuala Roche.
