"AGGRESSIVE" Wexford will not be successful in getting one inch of County Kilkenny land. That's the vow of Cllr Fidelis Doherty following a joint meeting with New Ross local authorities last week.
The Glenmore woman was flabbergasted when at the start of the meeting, Wexford Town Council member, Bobby Dunphy, set out Wexford's plan for County Kilkenny.

"He told us that Wexford wanted the land and I told him straight away that it was co-operation and not aggression we needed and that any problems we have should be dealt with in a peaceful manner," she said.

She was supported by Sen John Paul Phelan from nearby Tullogher. "Over my dead body," the Fine Gael Oireachtas member said after finding out about secret proposals by Wexford County Council and New Ross Town Council to annex part of County Kilkenny for their own purposes.
