GLANBIA, the Kilkenny city based global food company, is expcted to post good reslts this morning for the full year 2009, notwithstanding the global dairy downturn and impact it has had on Glanbia Ingredients, Ballyragget.
Analysts say that Glanbia is reviewing its entire structure in the context of all the discussions around dairy industry consolidation. Glanbia as the number one milk processor in Ireland is expected to show some leadership.

Given the scale of Glanbia and its well invested businesses in Ireland, as well as the fact that it has a co-op structure, which owns 55% of Glanbia Plc, it is expected that Glanbia will be at the forefront of dairy developments. Speculation around a future link up with others has been mooted in recent weeks but the likely expectation is that Glanbia will provide leadership and direction later this week.
