Heroin seizure in Kilkenny

HEROIN with an estimated street value of over three thousand euro was seized by members of drugs unit in Kilkenny last Thursday as part of the ongoing clampdown on drugs in the city.
Gardai made the detection on Thursday evening in the city centre when following on intelligence they stopped, searched and arrested one man. The man was brought to Kilkenny Garda Station where he was quizzed for a number of hours by gardai. He was later released without charge and a file on the matter has been prepared for the DPP. "This is a great success and stopped some of the supply of this deadly drug into our city. We will continue to target those who use and supply heroin," added a senior garda spokesman.
