The class of 1955-60 were welcomed by the President, Mgr Kieron Kennedy and the principal, John Curtis.


Earlier in the day a golf outing was held at Kilkenny Golf Club and was won by Glenmore native Johnny Dowling, with Lisdowney’s Michael Bowden runner up.


The evening’s events began with Mass in the college chapel, concelebrated by three members of that class, Fr Jim Crotty, Fr Denis Purcell and Fr Tom Coyle. Fr Jimmy Dollard would have been the fourth concelebrant but was unable to attend due to the sad demise the previous day of Fr Ned Rhatigan, a fellow Cullohill man. During the Mass the 11 class members who have passed on over the years were remembered.


The reception given by Mgr Kennedy was followed by a tour of the college and the evening ended with a very fine meal in the Club House Hotel.


It goes without saying that the entire occasion was hugely enjoyed by all but especially by those who, for various reasons, were meeting for the first time in at least half a century. Waistlines and hairstyles might have changed but there was very little change evident in the various personalities as the evening wore on.
