Woman denies murdering her brother

A 19-year-old woman has denied murdering her brother at a house party in Castlecomer in December 2008.
Caroline Brennan, 14 Love Lane, Castlecomer, appeared this morning (Thursday) at the Central Criminal Court sitting in Waterford before Judge Paul Carney.

The accusued, who was wearing grey trousers and a striped shirt, told the court that she was "not guilty" when the charge of the murder of her brother Michael Brenann at 35 Barrack Street, Castlecomer on December 30, 2008 was read out.

A jury of nine men and three woman were sworn in to hear the case which is due to start this afternoon (Thursday).

Judge Carney indicated that the trial is expoected to last four days.
