ASSURANCES have been given by Kilkenny County Council to Thomastown area Cllr Michael O'Brien, that a footpath connection will be made on the bridge at Ballyhale to connect the village with Station Road.
Cllr O’Brien is also seeking to have pedestrian protection improved on the Waterford side of Main Street following the opening of the new Dublin/ Waterford highway later this month. He said it was necessary because the present arrangement was “too narrow and short” to ensure the safety of pedestrians.

He went on to say that recent footpath improvements in Main Street were welcome but that more were needed to that side of the road near the GAA pitch.
