THE photography exhibition ‘Kilkenny and the Great War’ will be on display in The Watergarden Gallery from March 14-18.

The exhibition came about when, as its contribution to the annual National Heritage Week, Kilkenny Photographic Society carried out a photographic project to commemorate the many Kilkenny people who were involved in World War I. Archivist John Kirwan provided access to a number of images of participants in the war, and Photo Society members then met with their relatives or descendants and recorded the images of the modern-day family members.

This exhibition is the result and goes some way to remember a part of the country’s heritage. Opening hours are 9.30am to 5pm Monday to Friday.
