The annual event Absolut Style At Set returns to Kilkenny for three days from this Friday to Sunday.

It all starts with Free Film Friday, with four films on the Set’s big screen: Funny Face with Audrey Hepburn and Fred Astaire at 4pm, Annie Liebowitz: Life Through A Lens at 6pm, Marc Jacobs and Louis Vuitton at 7.30pm and Paris Is Burning at 9pm.

Saturday and Sunday will feature talks, fashion, furniture and bridal stands, plus wine tasting, Absolut vodka cocktails, and hair and beauty zones in the Set and Langton’s ballroom, followed by Style Nights Out. Admission for Film Friday is free; and a two-day pass for Saturday and Sunday daytime is e8; admission to the Saturday night club night is e5 (over-20s) and the Sunday night Spring Break ticket is e10 (over-20s).

The event organised by writer/stylist Blanaid Hennessy also features several guest speakers who will be giving talks and demonstrations.

Kieran O’Gorman will give a hair masterclass show in the Set at 7pm on Sunday. Kieran will use models to show how a change in cut and colour can change someone’s appearance for the better. Entrance is part of the e8 weekend day ticket, and places are limited.

RTÉ’s Brendan Courtney will be taking part in a live style and beauty panel discussion, joined by Blanaid Hennessy, model/makeup artist Karen Fitzpatrick and Kieran O’Gorman at 3pm on Saturday. The event will be an informal chat about the panel’s experiences in style and beauty, answering questions, offering advice and doing 20-minute master classes. Brendan will lead a style tutorial, Karen will show a makeup look, and Kieran will create an up style. Panelists will also discuss shopping and selling online, following Blanaid’s recent development of an ASOS.com boutique.
