AN exhibition of work by KCAT studio artist Thomas Barron is coming to The Source arts centre in Thurles – and this next chapter in the Homecoming series sees the Kilkenny-based artist returning home to Tipperary.

Highly regarded as a painter and working predominantly on canvas, Thomas develops his art through a series of very carefully worked stages. The process begins in pencil and progresses to include multiple layers of paint, resulting in pieces with a great sense of depth and a particular compositional balance between colour and form.

Thomas lives in Grange-mockler Camphill, Co Tipperary and is a member of the KCAT studio in Callan. He has exhibited widely in Ireland and abroad and has been awarded numerous commissions.

His exhibition at The Source opens at 6.30pm on March 4 and continues until April 20. Opening hours are 10am to 5pm, opening later on performance nights.

The Source is located on Cathedral Street, Thurles, Co Tipperary.
