Music, literature and art on the Barrow

The lineup for this year’s Barrow River Arts Festival in Graignamanagh and in Borris, County Carlow, has been announced, with music, storytelling and literature from March 2-4.

The lineup for this year’s Barrow River Arts Festival in Graignamanagh and in Borris, County Carlow, has been announced, with music, storytelling and literature from March 2-4.

Taking place in Graignamanagh’s Duiske Abbey and in Borris House, events include concerts by pianists Katia and Marielle Labèque of France, the Calmus Ensemble of Germany, The Aurora Trio of Spain and the UK, and the Calmus Ensemble with Camerata Kilkenny.

Irish storyteller Eddie Lenihan will share stories that he has collected over the past 20 years, and Marcella Riordan and Roger Marsh will present “Women in Joyce and Beckett.” The opening of an exhibition by Albert Irvine will coincide with improvisation by English saxophonist Evan Parker.

There will also be a tapas supper for the artists and weekend/day ticket holders in Borris House.
