IF you want to develop your drama and theatre skills, meet and engage with new people and have plenty of fun in the process then contact Barnstorm Theatre who are currently enrolling for the company’s two youth theatre groups and it’s Adult Theatre Club.
The Youth theatre groups concentrate on drama and theatre skills and cater for 11-13 and 14-18 year olds. They provides its members with a vast array of workshops mainly focused on acting skills, but can also delve into directing, writing, lighting and more. Each group runs weekly and produces at least one performance a year. The workshops are facilitated by Outreach Officer Anna Galligan, who was member of a youth theatre, has trained and worked as a professional actor and worked with the National Association for Youth Drama for over 10 years.
On September 5, Barnstorm’s Artistic Director, Philip Hardy will run a taster workshop for those interested in joining the Adult Theatre Club’s two-year programme at 7pm at The Barn. The Adult Theatre Club will run on Wednesdays froom 7pm to 9pm.
The Junior Youth Theatre runs weekly on Wednesday from 4.30pm to 6pm and caters for 11- 13 year olds. Its starts on September 12 and membership is filled on a first come first served basis. The Senior Youth Theatre runs weekly on Tuesdays from 5.30 to 7.30pm and caters for those in secondary school, aged 14 years and upwards. The Senior Youth Theatre will be holding an open workshop on September 4. Booking is essential. Anna will also be leading the training on a ten week Introduction to Facilitation which will introduce the skills of facilitation using group-work and drama methodologies. This course will begin on September 24 from 7pm-9pm.
