Opera Theatre Company will present Mozart’s The Magic Flute on February 9 at 8pm.
Mozart’s final opera, the lyrical love story is set against an atmospheric backdrop of fantasy and mischief. The profound but light-hearted tale combines moments of high comedy with intrigue, kidnap and elemental trials.
Opera Theatre Company is celebrating 25 years of touring opera throughout Ireland with this series of performances. Sung in English with music direction by Brenda Hurley, the production is directed by Annilese Miskimmon and designed by Nicky Shaw, with lighting design by Sinead McKenna.
Opera Theatre Company’s chamber ensemble performs the score sung by a cast including Owen Gilhooly, Adrian Dwyer, Alison Bell, Emma Morwood, Matthew Trevino, Lawrence Thackeray, Mary O’ Sullivan, Joan O’Malley, Mihaela Loredana Chirvase, Nathan Morrison and Eoin Hynes.
