ST FIACRE’S Church in Loughboy saw the coming together of two local groups for the benefit of one good cause last month.

Thukolo Gospel Choir joined forces with local group the Memphis Cats for an Elvis Gospel Night, in order to raise funds for a very worthy cause: The Irish Children’s Pilgrimage Trust.

All money raised on the night were donated to the trust to assist in funding their annual trip to Lourdes this Easter for young people with special needs from the Carlow/Kilkenny area. Father Dan Carroll, chaplain with the group was thrilled to receive the donation and thanked all concerned for their hard work and committment.

Thukolo wish to express their sincere gratitude to all the people who supported the concert and donated prizes for the raffle. They also wish to thank the Memphis Cats whose music made the evening complete and helped to make the concert the success that it undoubtedly was. A special thanks to the wonderful vocalist John Cassidy who performs with the Memphis Cats and is also a member of Thukolo.

Thukolo are available for weddings, fundraisers, and other events. All monies raised go directly to local charities.
