Madrigallery is currently recruiting for all lines for the 2012-13 season.
Now is the perfect time to join the choir that one critic recently described as “the trend setter for all choral groups in the area”. Waterford chamber choir Madrigallery is renowned for its extraordinarily varied repertoire encompassing music from many eras and genres and from all around the globe.
Of course, madrigals still feature in the group’s concerts, which have been praised as “wonderful”, “amazing” or “stunningly impressive”, but the choir’s upcoming projects promise to be its most exciting musical ventures in years.
Firstly, the choir will again perform Karl Jenkins’ incomparable “The Armed Man: A Mass for Peace” - scheduled for February 2013. One of the most moving and best-loved contemporary compositions, Madrigallery’s first performance of The Armed Man proved a highlight of the choir’s distinguished career under the “thoughtful and imaginative musical direction” of conductor Kevin O’Carroll. After that, Madrigallery will take on Mozart’s Requiem, often described as one of the most enigmatic pieces of music ever composed.
Anyone thinking of joining (or re-joining) a choir, who can hold a tune and commit to weekly rehearsals on Tuesday nights: This is your chance to create some amazing memories! Ability to read music is not essential, but helpful. If interested, contact Jean on 086-819 66 18
