Murphy is a prolific playwright with a career spanning more than 50 years in theatre. “On The Outside” was Murphy’s first play and as the title suggests, takes place on the outside. It centres around two lads, left outside the nightclub. Various plots are hatched to get in and as they progress the audience discovers the real meaning of being on the outside. The companion piece “On The Inside” was written some years later and takes place inside the same venue. The stories of love and lust play out as the band plays the hits. Performing both of these plays together has allowed Kats to fully develop and explore the context in which they were set and will make for a captivating night of theatre.

In a new departure Kats will be performing in The Ormonde Hotel for the first time. The hotel will be transformed into an intimate theatre setting and to help you banish the winter blues there’ll be mulled wine aplenty every night.

Kats have partnered with the charity ‘Cois Nore Cancer Support Centre’ on the 15th. This will help raise much needed funds for a cancer resource centre in Kilkenny. So, why don’t you come along and support Cois Nore, KATS and Kilkenny’s amateur theatre scene.

Tickets are selling fast so to secure your ticket to the dance, contact the Ormonde Hotel on 056 7750200 or KATS on 087 6096897. For more details check out www.fb.com/KatsTheatreGroup.

The plays will take place at the Ormonde Hotel on November 15, 16 and 17 at 8pm in the Ormonde Hotel.
