Dancing in the light of dusk

Dusk Ahead, a specially-commissioned piece for this year's Kilkenny Arts Festival
The synergy we share with each other and the connectivity, dependance and trust upon which all relationships are based is explored in Dusk Ensemble, a specially-commissioned piece of work for this year’s arts festival.

A dark and simple set is illuminated by golden strands as the troupe of six actors bring us on a powerful journey.

The fluid movement is mesmerising as each of the blind-folded actors struggle to find their way in the dark.

They search their space aware of the proximity and presence of others without being able to identify where they actually are. The chasm between the seen and the unseen is at the core of this work which is beautifully crafted.

So often there is so much going on that we are blind to and even when our eyes are opened wide it can be difficult to discern what is going on from we perceive to be happening.

The acting is superb and the dancework is sublime as we lose ourselves in the magic and movement.

Dusk ahead is a powerful new dance work from awarding winning Junk Ensemble. Exploring blindness and invisibility , Dusk Ahead shows the murky fading light of dusk when it is difficult to discern what is real and what is imagined.
