A flying enthusiast who had to endure his very own ‘Battle of Britton’ saw his company being acknowledged as the Kilkenny Business of the Year at the annual Chamber Awards held in Lytrath Hotel last Saturday evening.

A flying enthusiast who had to endure his very own ‘Battle of Britton’ saw his company being acknowledged as the Kilkenny Business of the Year at the annual Chamber Awards held in Lytrath Hotel last Saturday evening.

Three years ago, Tom Britton assessed his company’s performance and with just two staff put in place a business plan which has simply blossomed in to the strong and thriving business in it is today - employing ten.

Winner in the Service Provider Category previously on the night, the final award proved a very popular one among the attendance. For Tom, it was a shock as he remembered the days when the future did not look quite so bright and his story proved to be an inspiration and obviously struck a chord with the judging panel.

Tom was presented with his award by Glanbia Chairman Liam Herlihy, sponsors of the award.

Despite online bookings and other competitors, Marble City Travel has found their market and customer service is obviously one of their strong selling points

He thanked his family, staff and customers for their continued support and also announced early details of a new website which will be launched in 2013 as the business continues to expand.
