Three-in-a-row for Glanbia cheese

GLANBIA Ingredients, Ballyragget the makers of Kilmeaden and Avonmore cheese has retained the Fayrefield Trophy for the third year in a row for the best international cheddar at the prestigious Nantwich International Cheese Show in Britain.

GLANBIA Ingredients, Ballyragget the makers of Kilmeaden and Avonmore cheese has retained the Fayrefield Trophy for the third year in a row for the best international cheddar at the prestigious Nantwich International Cheese Show in Britain.

In addition, Glanbia secured three gold medals for mild cheddar cheese and vintage mature cheddar cheeses and two silver medals for red Leicester and white cheddar cheese.

The Nantwich International Cheese show is considered to be the top cheddar cheese show in the world and over 30,000 visitors attended this year including all the major cheese buyers from around the world. This show has been running now for 114 years. Jim Bergin, CEO, Glanbia Ingredients Ireland said Glanbia was very proud of the awards especially because they are across a number of categories including mild, vintage cheddar cheeses & red Leicester.

“The awards demonstrate the dedication and hard work by the team at Ballyragget to consistently produce top quality cheese year on year,” Mr Bergin said.
