A FREE information evening for jobseekers will be held in Kilkenny’s Newpark Hotel next Wednesday, April 25.
CPL, one of Ireland’s leading recruitment companies, will host the event, as part of the CPL Nationwide Jobseekers Roadshow. The roadshow, which is in its second year following its success in 2011, provides free, expert information to jobseekers on how to improve their chances of securing employment.
The Minister for Jobs, Enterprise and Innovation, Richard Bruton said that the raod show would make a valuable contribution towards improving the prospects for unemployed people in Ireland.
“Employment is this Government’s top priority, and through the ‘Action Plan for Jobs’ we are working day and night to ensure that everything possible is done to ensure that more jobs are created here,” he said.
“However, we must also ensure where vacancies exist, unemployed people are in the best possible position to take them up, and Government has introduced a series of measures to address this issue.”
Peter Cosgrove, the director of CPL, says that although it is a challenging time to be job seeking, up to 60% of Irish companies are recruiting and opportunities still exist for jobseekers, with particular demand for employees in sectors such as life sciences, engineering, social media, finance; healthcare, IT and gaming.
“Jobseekers are seeing a big decrease in jobs advertised, however, there are still opportunities available to candidates,” he said.
“The growth of multinationals in Ireland in particular has seen a huge demand for those with a second language. Meanwhile, the growth in Ireland’s life sciences and technology capability has increased the demand for science, IT and engineering based jobs.”
Cpl will be offering further advice on topics for job seekers such as how to prepare a CV, interview techniques and presentation. Admission is free. To pre-register, please visit www.cpl.ie.
