Hogan opens DIERS conference in city

Minister for the Environment Phil Hogan was in Kilkenny City on Monday to open a three-day annual conference of EDUG (European DIERS User Group (Design Institute of Emergency Relief Systems) at the Kilkenny Ormonde Hotel.

Minister for the Environment Phil Hogan was in Kilkenny City on Monday to open a three-day annual conference of EDUG (European DIERS User Group (Design Institute of Emergency Relief Systems) at the Kilkenny Ormonde Hotel.

The conference was organised by Kilkenny company Prochem Engineering Ltd and had attendees from 11 countries, including the USA, UK, Italy, Germany, France and the Netherlands. The first day was a series of lectures on new innovations in the field, while attendees had the chance to do a day’s touring yesterday (Tuesday).
