Callan Bacon named Business of the Year at Kilkenny Chamber Awards

Callan Bacon was named the Business of the Year at the prestigious Kilkenny Chamber of Commerce Business awards at Lyrath Hotel.

Callan Bacon was named the Business of the Year at the prestigious Kilkenny Chamber of Commerce Business awards at Lyrath Hotel.

Over 500 guests attended the function, where 19 individual category award winners were honoured for their excellence in a variety of fields.

Callan Bacon, with a €100m turnover, employing 200 people and with 60% of its products now exported, swept the boards.

The Presidents Award, presented by President of the Chamber Donie Butler, went to Margaret Ward of RTE for her courageous reporting from around the world and insightful news production of historic events - including the visit of Queen Elizabeth to Ireland.

The Lifetime Achievement award went to 86 year old Billy Dalton of Chancellors Mills on the outskirts on Kilkenny City.

The awards night was sponsored by Glanbia.
