Tourism interns focus on overseas market

With an aim of attracting more overseas visitors to the region, a group of marketing interns currently working in tourism businesses across Kilkenny attended a five-day training programme organised by Fáilte Ireland in Treacy’s Hotel, Waterford City last week.

With an aim of attracting more overseas visitors to the region, a group of marketing interns currently working in tourism businesses across Kilkenny attended a five-day training programme organised by Fáilte Ireland in Treacy’s Hotel, Waterford City last week.

The national tourism development authority is offering a number of supports, including a resource guide and training programmes, for tourism businesses who decide to offer a marketing internship via JobBridge, the national internship scheme, in order to help steer them through the process. Among the topics discussed at the training workshop were ‘Developing an Overseas Marketing Plan’ using Fáilte Ireland’s Integrated Marketing Guide and ‘Winning More Overseas Business.’
