Business ideas in the heritage, advertising, charity and technology sectors were to the fore as the fourth Blueface Business Elevator competition took place on Saturday in Carphone Warehouse in MacDonagh Junction.

Winner of the Kilkenny heat was Fantasy5live.com, a new social media site that integrates real-time Irish fantasy online sports and offers competitors the chance to play a strategic game in a fun but competitive environment. Based in Kilkenny, Fantasy5live.com will join Drogheda heat winners CleverMiles, Galway winners Ireland’s Raw Kitchen and Cork winners RigBag in the final on July 14 in Dublin. A Limerick heat will take place this weekend.

Other entrants on the day included Brendan Bolger from www.365photographs.net, an interactive tour book of Kilkenny heritage sites aimed at young children. Dermot Byrne pitched his FoneSense, which provides a platform for advertisers to promote their product or service to the public via mobile phone notification tones, such as ringtone and SMS tone. John Healy presented his business KindCitizen, which helps struggling not-for-profit organisations diversify their revenue stream and increase their media coverage. Brendan Noud pitched his business idea, LearnUpon Business Overview, an online learning platform designed to meet the needs of small training companies. And Paul Price and Bernadette Duffy presented Big Red Button, a personal emergency support service.
