Learn a new job

PEOPLE seeking a new job may want to take the chance to re-train in Hotel Kilkenny where a course is to be held in measuring the energy efficency of new and old homes.

Due to recent EU legislation, all new and existing buildings (domestic and commercial) will need to have a building energy rating certificate. Dwellings for which planning permission is applied for after January 2007 will require certification and any homeowners wishing to sell or rent their existing properties after next January must also have a BER certificate.

This is a significant opportunity for businesses wishing to enhance their existing service or for those considering a change in career to act now and take advantage of this legislation by becoming a qualified BER Assessor.

Wexford Company Daralinn has become hugely successful in the area of training and is continuously delivering effective, comprehensive practical courses which meet current industry requirements. Training courses range from CSCS training, FAS Safepass, construction safety training, and forklift truck training to occupational first aid. A full list of courses is available at www.daralinn.ie

Daralinn is now holding a FETAC accredited BER course at Hotel Kilkenny. The course will be delivered by trainers who have extensive training experience in the areas of environmental engineering and building services. The BER daytime course runs for four days, while evening courses are presented over nine three-hour sessions; evening courses will be held at the Daralinn Training Centre in Wexford town. On completion of a BER course, students will be assessed and entered for FETAC certification (the pre-requisite for registration by Sustainable Energy Ireland). Spaces are limited to 16 per class. Call 053 9121929 to book a place.
