If you missed Devious Theatre’s acclaimed stage version of Night Of The Living Dead, this years Rockfall Festival is presenting you with one more chance to catch it!
This Halloween, Romero’s zombie classic will be quite aptly returning to the big screen as it gets a screening in Cleeres Theatre on Saturday October 27 as part of this years Rockfall line up. The screening also falls under the banner of Thrillkenny, a host of zombie-related events taking place around the city. Devious Theatre will also be screening the filmed prologue of the play and a brand new behind the scenes documentary about the making of the show. The documentary offers a never before seen look at the show from its conception to its arrival in the Watergate Theatre in July of this year.
In the review of Night Of The Living Dead, the Kilkenny People wrote ‘The Devious Theatre Company have crafted a hilarious, violent, tense, and fun slice of stage horror, filled with memorable characters and quotable dialogue, cementing themselves as Tarantino’s of the Irish theatre scene.’ This is the only opportunity you will get to see this production on the big screen.
The screening will be followed by Dead Disco, a Halloween themed club night, orchestrated by The All Time DJs. With this double event, Cleeres is going to be the place to be this Halloween weekend. The whole night kicks off at 8pm and admission for the entire event is €5. Like all Rockfall events, the proceeds raised will go towards the O’Neill Centre and Enable Ireland.
