KILKENNY could be playing for a big pay day and home match in the Allianz National Hurling League final when they face Clare on Sunday, writes John Knox.

Semple Stadium, Thurles, will host the biggest hurling day of the season to date on Sunday when the two semi-finals are played there.

And if results throw up a Kilkenny/Tipperary pairing for the final on May 6, the decider would most likely be played in Nowlan Park.

“There is an arrangement between the two counties that when they next meet in the final the match will be in Kilkenny,” County Board secretary, Ned Quinn confirmed when asked about the long standing agreement.
