THE sun beamed down on participants in the first day of the popular Lisdowney Coca-Cola Sevens hurling tournament.
Teams from Laois, Kildare, Tipperary and Kilkenny competed in the early rounds of the Sweeney Cup and Kilkenny Supporters Club Shield. Skill and enthusiasm matched the glorious weather and the hope is for a repeat this Saturday when 16 more teams vie for places on finals day on August 6.
