HENRY Shefflin has been selected to start in Kilkenny’s crunch All-Ireland quarter-final clash with Cork.
Shefflin was named at number 15 in Brian Cody’s side to face the Rebels in Semple Stadium on Sunday. This will be the Ballyhale Shamrocks player’s first championship start for Kilkenny since last year’s All-Ireland final replay with Galway.
Shefflin’s inclusion was one of several changes made in the Cats line-up. The big switches are in midfield, where Cillian Buckley will partner Michael Fennelly. Eoin Larkin is moved back into the half-forward line. Michael Rice, Matthew Ruth and Aidan Fogarty are the players to make way from the team who started against Waterford in Thurles a fortnight ago.
Team: Eoin Murphy, Paul Murphy, J.J. Delaney, Jackie Tyrrell, Tommy Walsh, Brian Hogan, Kieran Joyce, Cillian Buckley, Michael Fennelly, Colin Fennelly (capt), Richie Power, Eoin Larkin, Walter Walsh, Richie Hogan, Henry Shefflin. Subs: David Herity, Conor Fogarty, Paddy Hogan, Michael Rice, Lester Ryan, Aidan Fogarty, Matthew Ruth, Padraig Walsh, Willie Phelan, Richie Doyle, Joe Brennan.
Throw-in time for Sunday’s quarter-final with Cork as at 2pm.
