James Stephens claimed their second win in the senior hurling league when they proved too good for out of sorts Fenians (Johnstown) in Ballyragget on Friday (1-17 to 1-6).

The Village laid the basis for victory during an all action first half when they out-worked and out-played the opposition. They led at half-time by 1-12 to 0-3, with Eoin Larkin contributing 1-4.

The Fenians improved after the break and an early goal from a free by Conor Tobin suggested they might make a real game of it. They never did!
