Four hurling legends have been confirmed for the questions and answers style debate which will be held ahead of the Leinster senior hurling championship clash between Offaly and Kilkenny on June 9 in O’Connor Park, Tullamore.
Carroll’s Ham, Club Faithful, Offaly GAA and Irish Autism Action are all coming together to put on a pre-game event in the Tullamore GAA centre.
Kilkenny duo, D.J. Carey (below left) and Eddie Brennan will be joined by Offaly legends Joe Dooley (below right) and Brian Whelehan in the pre-match debate in where they will be put through the ringer by MC and Club Faithful committee member, Michael Duignan.
This is a little something extra for the fans to enjoy on what will be a big hurling day in the Offaly town.
Carroll’s Ham will promote a world record attempt on the day. They have assembled a team that will bid to make as many ham sandwiches as possible in one hour.
They will, of course, enlist the help of the hurling legends as well as anyone else willing to lend a hand in the world record bid.
The event is free to all comers. There will also be something for children as a host of outdoor activities are being planned.
Throw-in for the big game is at 2pm. The pre game event will kick off in the Tullamore GAA centre at 12 noon. It promises to be a super day out for all the family, and a good atmosphere builder for the big game.
Oh, and there might be a few sandwiches to be eaten as well.
All sandwiches made will be sold off and all proceeds will be donated to Irish Autism Action. For more information on the event check out Carroll’s facebook and twitter pages as well as the Club Faithful and Offaly GAA social media outlets.
