All-Ireland colleges champions, St Kieran’s college were simply too good for Good Counsel (Wexford) in the Leinster Post Primary School senior hurling semi-final in Thomastown today, winning by 1-18 to 0-5.

Deadly free taker Ray Lahart was in top form. He helped himself to 10 points as St Kieran’s clinched a place in the final against St Peter’s College (Wexford). The final will be played next weekend. No venue or day yet.

The winners opened with the strong wind blowing towards the country end. With Lahart, Richie Leahy and Tadhg O’Dwyer in good shooting form they built up a commanding 0-14 to 0-2 by the break after some terrific shooting.

The ’Counsel were even out-scored in the second half - 1-4 to 0-3 - while playing with the elements.
