The net surplus this year was €273,939 compared to €293,770 in 2012, but few counties are performing as well as Kilkenny, either on or off the field.

On the ‘Income’ schedule presented to club delegates at annual Convention on Monday night showed gate receipts improved (€196,154 from €162,172) as did commercial income (€429,367 from €423,109).

Kilkenny’s win in the National League netted €129,948, which on the back of €142,457 in 2012 turned into a good earner for the ’Board.

Commercial income also scored well at €429,367, an increase of over €5,000.
