KILKENNY stars, Henry Shefflin and Tommy Walsh, will be part of the Centre Hurling Skills tour that will hit all parts of Ireland during the summer.
Centra, Ireland’s largest convenience retailer who is in its third year as sponsor of the GAA hurling All-Ireland championship, has launched its sponsorship programme of activity.
Building on the enormous success of its Hurling Skills Tour in 2011, Centra will spread the GAA message even further across local communities throughout Ireland with their Centra ‘Brighten Up Your Day’ community events.
The family event will visit Nowlan Park in Kilkenny on Saturday, April 28 but will be running every weekend in 15 locations around Ireland from April 21 until July 28 featuring some of the country’s greatest inter-county players.
The event in Nowlan Park will feature Henry Shefflin (Kilkenny) and Seán Óg Ó hAilpín (Cork) who will be giving Ireland’s future hurlers the chance to train with the best in the game, and the good news is that the event is free.
This programme is aimed at bringing communities together in their local county stadium or club to enjoy a celebration of hurling and family entertainment.
The Kilkenny event will be supported by all local Centra retailers in Kilkenny, including Nolan’s Centra (Ardnore), Deegan’s Centra (Urlingford), Carroll’s Centra (Knocktopher), Cullen’s Centra (Bennettsbridge), Hennessy’s Centra (Johns Green), Blanchfield’s Centra (Mooncoin) and will feature an array of family entertainment including bbq’s, live music, a hurling simulator to test your hurling skills, face painting and a hurling skills session for children.
All events are free. To register email firstname.lastname@example.org or Freetext CENTRA followed by the county of the event you would like to attend and your name to 50050.
