The Allianz Cumann-na-mBunscoil hurling leagues have got off to a great start with a total of four rounds played in the Educational Supplies Roinn A league.

The beautiful spring weather has helped all teams to get up and running. Newly promoted Kilmanagh, defending champions St Patrick’s De La Salle and city rivals St Canice’s are setting the standard with full points from three matches.

With the schools now closed for the Easter holidays teams will have a break before resuming action on April 18.

At the recent National Hurling League match in Nowlan Park, two teams from Cumann-namBunscol Kilkenny played an exhibition game at half-time. Last year’s Roinn A champions St Patrick’s De La Salle took on a Cumann-na-mBunscol selection which was made up of teams from the country clubs.

This gave the players an opportunity to display their skills before a large crowd and the boys rose to the occasion and showed some great touches during the game.
