TJ Reid returns to championship action to face Offaly in Tullamore this Sunday havingrecovered from a knee injury suffered in last year’s All-Ireland senior hurling championship final victory over Galway.

Brian Cody announced the team this evening , with another significant change being the return of Richie Power - but unfortunately for Kilkenny Michael Fennelly was unavailable for selection due to injury.

There are championship debuts for Eoin Murphy in goal, and Lester Ryan at midfield.

Kilkenny begin the championship, for the first time in 14 years, without Henry Shefflin on the field as the Ballyhale man continues to overcome a foot injury.Richie Doyle, another long term injury for Kilkenny, is named in the subs.
