Kilkenny and Tipperary will meet for the fourth time in six seasons in the GAA hurling All-Ireland senior

final.

Tipperary’s 2-18 to 1-11 win over Cork in the second semi-final in Croke Park set up the latest meeting. Kilkenny beat Tipperary in the 2009 and 2011 finals, while Tipperary beat their neighbours in the 2010 decider.

The final will be the third clash between Kilkenny and Tipperary this year, with Brian Cody’s men having won the previous two in the Allianz National League.

They won by 5-20 to 5-14 in a 1A group game in Nowlan Park last February and by 2-25 to 1-27 (after extra-time) in the final in Thurles in early May.

Kilkenny last won the All-Ireland title two years ago while Tipperary’s last title success was in 2010.

The minor final will be between Kilkenny and Limerick, the first time the counties have clashed in the under-18 decider since the GAA’s Centenary Year in 1984.

The first game finished level (Limerick 1-14 Kilkenny 3-8); Limerick won the replay, 2-5 to 2-4.
