Members of Tyndall Mountain Club gathered in Kytelers on Kieran Street last Friday evening to mark its 35th birthday.
Many of the founding members were present for the social occasion including Maguerite Kelly, Jerry Herlihy, Shelia Herlihy, Martin O'Reilly, Ann Taylor and Michael Taylor.
Presentations were made to Martin Brett and John Smart in recognition of their trojan work in organising the club's many trips away.
A special mention and word of thanks was also given to Kathleen Tuite for compiling a wonderful montage of images and videos which was played on the night and to Kyteler's for their support.
Tyndall Mountain Club organise weekly walks every Sunday and Wednesday and there is also a cycling trip every Monday.
This year there are a number of trips away planned including a trip to Carlingford, walking the Cathar Way in France and discovering the White Mountains of Crete.
New members are also welcome.
