James Stephens rolled out the red carpet last week as the club launched its most exciting fundraiser to date- Strictly Lets Dance with The Village.
And already it's expected to sell -out - such is the anticipation of this night being extra special on the eve of Valentine's night - Saturday, February 13 at the Lyrath Estate Hotel. Event Manager Rachael Ellard is delighted with the sell-out crowd, and the effort being put in by the 36 dancers for the club. “We have a thrilling show lined up for February, it will be the social event of the year so there was massive demand for tickets which sold out last week. Training is going well, it was a big shock to the system as they are learning very technical dances. Each dancer has a different style everything from samba to swing, tango , foxtrot, lyrical ,hip hop, mambo.”
Marty Morrissey and Edward Hayden will compere the event. The judging panel will include Tomas Mulcahy (RTE), Michael Duignan (RTE), Tracy Millea and Jackie Tyrell.
Dancers are having a great time training - Damien Phelan said “I’m having a lot of fun learning to dance, its extremely enjoyable but very hard at same time, delighted to be taking part” Olivia Brennan assured us she’s the one to watch - “I’m going to win, myself and my partner Ger are getting ready to accept the trophy, ”she joked.
Bob Cody of James Stephens said ‘This is one of the best things the club has ever done, it has created an amazing community spirit amongst the club, everyone is looking forward to the event the dancers are very excited and are receiving an incredibly high standard of training. New friendships have been formed and we can't wait for a night that will be talked about for years to come. Huge thanks to all of our sponsors, our dancers, and the team at Vesper Events,” added Bob.
