Kilkenny shines on St Patrick's Day

Parades in Kilkenny City, Urlingford, Graignamanagh and Goresbridge brought thousands out on one of the most pleasant St Patrick's Days in many years.

In Kilkenny both young and old thronged the streets to cheer on the many participants - led by the local army barracks newest recruit - Fionn the Irish wolfhound.

Local bands, clubs and groups all donned the green to march in honour of our patron Saint.

The celebrations continue throughout the weekend with the local Tradfest in Ireland's Medieval capital.

Next week's Kilkenny People will feature a special pull out on all the St Patrick's Day parades in Kilkenny.
