A stunning photographic exhibition by the photography class of VTOS Kilkenny will take place in Unit 7 (opposite Carraig Donn) MacDonagh Junction Shopping Centre, Kilkenny.
This exhibition will be held from June 3 to the with the official opening at 11am on Friday, June 3 of the bank holiday weekend. The exhibition will open every day from 9am to 6pm.
The exhibition is entitled Moments Captured 2016 and will comprise of two chosen photographs from each of the 22 participants. A combination of two separate groups completed their courses in QQI Level 5 and 6 respectively in Digital Photography between the months of September 2015 and May 2016.
The exhibition is the culmination of both class work and field work.
It covers a variety of photographic themes, such as, environment, still life, nature, movement and photo journalism.
Students were asked to demonstrate their understanding of the principal components of the digital camera, including composition, perspective, tone, shape, form and space.
Students were also asked to demonstrate their understanding of lens aperture, shutter speed, focus, depth of field, ISO, white balance and the rule of thirds and a number of other technical issues.
The success of this course is primarily due to our teacher Donal Costigan.
This is the 6th year of the VTOS Kilkenny Photography Exhibition, which showcases the new found skills of the participants in digital photography.
Each class member brings his/her own distinctive style to the exhibition, encompassing all aspects of photography.
