It was mostly smiles in the sunshine after the first day of Leaving Cert exams today, beginning with English Paper I.
Neither the Higher Level or Ordinary Level paper had any major surprises, and most students would have been happy with it.
Some 1,030 students in Kilkenny began their Leaving Certificate exams this morning, while almost 1,150 younger students began their Junior Certificate.
The remainder of the tests continue until June 24.
The very best of luck to everyone sitting exams. Remember, that while it can be a stressful time for students — as well as families and teachers — it is only an exam at the end of the day.
