Big Blue box arrives in Kilkenny

Bank of Ireland's Big Blue Box Cycle Challenge arrived safely into Nowlan Park on Friday, welcomed by Deirdre Shine and her team with St Canices and St John's Senior School kids adding to the excitement.

The unique volunteering challenge saw Bank Of Ireland staff and volunteers cycle through Irelands Ancient East over the past two weeks.

All funds raised will go directly to support the Irish Heart Foundations new Mobile Health Unit with Bank of Ireland promising to match funds raised in the local communities.

Inside the Big Blue Box, Deirdre received a picture of Jerpoint Abbey by her colleague Sinead Burke in Thomastown.

The day turned out to be a huge success, kids were involved in a GAA Skills camp where they were coached by Kilkenny stars Henry Shefflin, Tommy Walsh, Eoin Kelly, Austin Gleeson and Ann Dalton.

Deirdre would like to thank everyone for their support on the day in particular the local business community who donated spot prizes.
