Joan Freeman for Voices of Hope at St Canice's Church this October

The very popular Voices of Hope starts tonight (Wednesday) in St Canice's Church, Kilkenny and continues each Wednesday of the month.

These talks provide an opportunity for all to reflect on where it is that you find hope today in the midst of the many difficulties and problems that permeate the lives of so many people.

Tonight, Martin Kennedy, trainer and facilitator with community and church groups will speak on the role faith can play in contemporary culture.

On Wednesday, October 12, the inspirational Joan Freeman, founder of Pieta house will be the guest lecturer.

She will highlight the fact that 90% of the people who come to Pieta have not got a psychiatric history.

Sr Consillo, the founder of Cuan Mhuire, the charitable drug, alcohol and gambling rehabilitation organisation will speak in the church on Wednesday, October 26.

All the talks start at 7.30pm and there is a cup of tea afterwards.
