Kilkenny's Yesteryears to be launched this week

Times past: Calling for a bypass of Callan.

The eagerly awaited, Yesteryears book of old photographs and memories of Kilkenny is launched this week.

Published by the Kilkenny People, this 164 page book includes up to 500 images of local people and places.

The book is full of memories from througout the 20th century - including social pictures from the 60's up to the Millenium and also rare, historial pictures of long gone eras in Kilkenny - like the 'Big House,' and our rural heritage in particular.

“It's an absolute treasure chest of old memories, the people, the places of Kilkenny city and county and is sure to be much sought after,” said Kilkenny People editor Brian Keyes.

The book, which is on sale this week for just €10, is available at our offices on High Street, Kilkenny and in selected book shops and newsagents throughout Kilkenny.
