Kilkenny's Green Party councillor, Malcolm Noonan is in hospital this morning for surgery after he fell of his bike last Thursday.
It means he will miss only his third council meeting in 13 years.
He has asked that an item on the agenda for the meeting, a review of the St Patrick's weekend festival, be deferred, as he is the chairman of it and would like an input.
This morning (Monday) he was admitted to St James's Hospital in Dublin after injuries sustained in the bicycle accident on Thursday afternoon.
